When a woman awakens in a London asylum, she isn’t sure whether she is dead or alive, how she got there, and what is real. Time is kept by seasons, not hours or minutes. Strange characters—including an exorcist, a sadistic doctor, and multiple spirits—visit her bedside. As she tries to convince those around her that she is the deceased poet Sylvia Plath, her condition further deteriorates and she begins to plot her escape.
