About this book

"The Gods Are Arguing In My Head" is a poetry collection that takes the reader through the ups and downs of navigating mental health. Using mythology to create order out of emotional chaos, the poems are meant to be evocative and vivid, pulling the reader into the emotional vortex that consumes the narrator.

This collection of poetry is the debut of a small-town poet who is passionate about getting her voice heard in the non-stop content-spam plaguing this generation. She desires to communicate the true essence of life, and aims to do so while maintaining a lyrical, musical voice.

About the Author
Aimie McAllester (also known as Sylvia Rose) was born in Houston, but raised in East Texas. Her childhood was largely shaped by her severely autistic, non-verbal brother, as the entire family had to learn to adapt to abnormal stresses that most families would never think of. She used music and writing to cope, and is now looking to finish her undergraduate degree in psychology with a minor in English. Following graduation, she hopes to go to graduate school and get her counseling license, then go to medical school for psychiatry. In her free-time, she likes to hyper-fixate on various topics in extensive detail (ranging from pharmacology to airplane accident investigations to whatever else might pique her interest) and prefers to spend as much time as she can with two cats and precious puppy-dog named Honey.
